SAFETY AND HEALTH COMMITTEE

this committee is formed prior to the commencement of any construction work. It acts as the overall coordinator in implementing occupational safety and health programs; 

The Safety and Health Committee ensures that the rules and the construction safety and health program are observed and enforced at the project site, it is composed of the following personnel with its respective functions:

 

Project Manager

 

Engr.Rodolfo F. Pao

Engr. Edmundo P. Nuesca

 

      plan, develop and oversee the implementation of accident prevention programs for the construction project.

 

     direct the accident prevention efforts for the construction project, Initiate and supervise the conduct of brief safety meetings or toolbox meetings every day.

 

First Aider                                                       -  person duly trained for first aid treatment

 

      Perform all duties provided in the construction Safety and Health Program or those that are necessary and incidental to the fulfilment of their duties such as to provide health services and emergency aid.

 

SAFETY POLICIES

 

      The following safety policies should be observed during the entire operation of the construction project:

 

Personal Protective Equipment

 

       the employer furnished his workers with adequate protective equipment for eyes, face, hands and feet, safety belt/harness, protective shields and barriers necessary by reason of the hazardous work process or environment. Thus no personnel are allowed to work without any personal protective equipment such as safety helmet, safety goggles, chin strap, proper working clothes, safety belt, hand gloves, and safety shoes. Workers within the construction project site are required to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment at all times. 

 

Housekeeping

 

       to ensure safety of the workers from any accident during the operation it is mandatory to keep the site always clean and tidy. Personnel are prohibited to throw any debris except on the place designated for waste disposal. Good housekeeping prevents accident.

 

Fire Protection 

 

        a fire extinguisher is provided on every strategic location.

 

Workers physical and mental condition

 

        no workers are allowed to work without good physical and mental condition. Workers with sickness, emotional upset, personal problems, substance abuse, fatigue, and weakness are prohibited in the construction site.

 

Signages

 

         construction safety signages are hereby provided to warn the workers and the public of the hazards existing in the workplace. Signages are posted in prominent positions at strategic location where there is potential risk and as far as practicable in the language understandable to most of the workers employed. Thus every personnel are directed to observed and follow the signs.

 

Penalties and Sanction

 

         For every violation of safety and health policies the following penalties and sanction are hereby imposed:

 

 

    First Offense         - Reprimand or warning

    Second Offense     - Fine

    Third Offense        - Termination

 

 

 

Workers should be adequately and suitably informed of potential safety and health hazards, which they may be exposed at the workplace.  They are instructed and trained on the measures available for the prevention, control and protection against those hazards.

 

 

Taking into consideration industry practices and applicable government requirements, the above stated CONSTRUCTION OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH PROGRAM are hereby issued for all concerned:
